There are a couple of things you can do to increase your patcher speeds. As I find them I will place them in this thread.

1st, download the new MonoTorrent.dll
http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/32931-patcher-upgrade.html

Info on how the patcher works and what the problem is.
http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/33241-big-broken-launcher-thread.html

Manual patch downloads! READ THE TEXT BELOW FOR USEFUL INFORMATION.
If you have a completely freshly downloaded client from the website then these are all the current patches you need (as I'm writing this, will obviously change)

!!YOU WILL NEED A TORRENT CLIENT TO DOWNLOAD THE ACTUAL PATCHES!!

Patch number and links: (Let me add, these are the OFFICIAL torrents used by the patcher, not some dodgy home-made crap. The patcher downloads these actual files into the \patches folder, that's where I got these from)
1: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56180/MO/mopatch0to05.torrent (Size: 1.87 GB)
2: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56180/MO/mopatch05to121719b.torrent (Size: 1.32 GB)
3: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56180/MO/mopatch121719bto121820.torrent (Size: 265 MB)
4: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56180/MO/mopatch121820to121821.torrent (Size: 3.57 MB)
Before you run the patch, make sure you place them in the correct folder (and you run them in the correct order). They need to be inside the folder named "mortalonline" inside the folder where you installed your game. For example: C:\Program Files\Starvault\Mortal Online\mortalonline. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU PLACE IT IN THE RIGHT SPOT, remember, the mortalonline folder INSIDE your installed folder. Not where Mortal Online Launcher.exe is.

I would like to add a link to this thread, may help: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/32931-patcher-upgrade.html

Please note that the launcher can be pretty dodgy (which seems to be caused by patch server overload) and be unable to connect to the servers (took me over 100 tries to get everything updated properly), this happens for everyone unless you get crazy lucky or something and until you manage to get connected and get the updated (fixed) launcher you are just basically down to luck and retrying until it works.

I am not 100% sure about this, however it seems that running the launcher is what updates the launcher to the fixed version, not the updater.exe.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now read this post and open your Torrent ports, access your router and open the port. Instuctions are here.

From the looks of it, I'd need to go back to college and get an IT degree just to download the patcher..... sooooooo, no.

I ran accross this and had to share it.  This is great and it's not even finished yet.

The 2nd trailer is out and it looks like they are ready to launch within 2 weeks.

http://www.mortalonline.com/videos

We are very happy to announce that Mortal Online will launch in March 2010. As most of you know, we implemented the features planned for release and even managed to get in a few more that were initially planned for post-release. We are currently focussing solely on bugfixing and polish.

The main focus lies of course on the desync problems which both the SV programmers and the coders from EPIC are working hard on to fix. The largest part of problems in the game right now is directly related to the desync between client and server.
We are confident that with the next patch on Monday most, if not all of those problems will be solved.

It has been a rough ride for both the followers of the game as well as everybody here at Star Vault. MMOGs are never finished and we will, of course, not slow down with the constant improvement and development of the game after release. Mortal Online will release with the core features that we promised but will of course grow and mature with every patch.

There are still a lot of brilliant features round the corner and Nave has just started to grow.
This is a very important time for both Mortal Online and you, the supporters, followers and players of the game. We will continue to make the game that all of you and we ourselves want to see.

New Game Trailer

Together with this newsletter a new game trailer for Mortal Online has been made available for the public.
We think it captures the game's soul and spirit and also gives interested people a valid impression of the game.
